ARTECH ANNOUNCES SIMONSON ADDITION

Monday November 10, 2008

Nationally recognized Residential Design Expert joins firm to direct multi-family residential business.

Artech is pleased to officially announce the addition of Bruce Simonson, AIA to its design staff. Mr. Simonson was most recently a partner with Atlanta-based SGN+A, a professional corporation providing design services for clients across the United States.

Bruce Simonson’s primary focus has been on urban and large scale, high-density residential projects, however his planning and architectural experience also includes recreational, commercial and institutional design. Recent projects are located throughout the mid-west and southeast and range in construction value from $1,000,000 to $25,000,000. He is currently working on Avenue 3, the local Jefferson Heights condo and townhouse project for LMF Holdings; Walnut Commons, an apartment building in downtown Chattanooga; and Sequoyah Commons, a condo development in Madison, Wisconsin.

“Although Bruce has worked previously with Artech as a consultant on a few projects, it gives us great pleasure to welcome his talent, full-time, into the fold,” says Artech CEO David Hudson. “Not only will Bruce’s addition boost our multi-family residential capabilities, it also strengthens our ability to respond to other clients growing needs in lifestyle and mixed-use projects where the inclusion of residential is becoming more common. Though the housing market in general is down now, we see tremendous potential in apartments and the future of urban housing”, he says. The decision by Volkswagen Group of America to locate a U.S. manufacturing plant in Chattanooga will likely have some impact on the need for additional housing options in the local market, as well.

Mr. Simonson is a native of Wisconsin and has maintained a Chattanooga residence for over 3 years. He is married to Cynthia Neeson and he recently joined the Board of Directors for Orange Grove Center.
