CBL, Benchmark JV recently announced the start of construction on Hammock Landing, a 750,000-sf open-air shopping center in West Melbourne, FL.

Located on one of the most heavily traveled roads in the area, Hammock Landing’s anchors will include Marshall’s, Linens ‘n Things, Michael’s and Petco, and will have more than 120,000 sf of small shops and restaurants. The project is a joint venture of Chattanooga, TN-based CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. and the Amherst, NY-based Benchmark Group.  Artech serves as the architect on the project and Chattanooga-based EMJ Corp. is the general contractor.

Hammock Landing is expected to open in spring of 2009.
