Rick Thompson, President and a founding Principal at Artech, was recently reappointed by Governor (TN) Phil Bredesen to the Tennessee Architectural and Engineering Board of Examiners.
The Board is charged with the examination of the qualifications of applicants for registration and, in proper cases, the issuing of certificates of registration. It is composed of twelve members — three registered architects, three registered engineers, one registered landscape architect, one registered interior designer, a public member who is not engaged in the practice of architecture, engineering, or landscape architecture, and three non-voting associate engineer members. The members are appointed by the governor and serve for a period of four (4) years.
Mr. Thompson, who has over 20 years experience in architecture and is registered in 27 states including Tennessee, is a founding partner of Artech. He also serves on the Tennessee Board of Architects and Engineers, is a Board member for Cornerstones, a Historic Preservation organization and is a past Board Chair for the Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
